Jake Rooney's

Well after 4 years living on Cape Cod we discovered that place, and was a nice surprice, we went there to watch playing the Clayton Restaino blues proyect band to celebrate a birthday of a friend and we were so happy we did it because the place , food , service , and price was awesome . And has a big parking space. We will come back for sure.

Very good french onion soup

Decent restaurant, but if your out for dinner on a Friday or Saturday get there before 5 if not it turns into a bar and there's no chance of normal conversation..so 4 stars for the food and one star off cuz the atmosphere took a nose dive real fast.

Was hungry and was looking to eat simply some chiken and mash potatoes,When i came inside i was approached and they said they will make some for me.. I do not know if they had that on the menu but they wore kind enough to fix me a grilled chicken breast and serve it as a sandwich with lettuce tomatoes mayo and have a little boll of mash with it just as i asked. It was very kind of them to make it, Very friendly and polite and extremely helpful.They even had music with a older gentleman who sing live!Definitely a place to go visit and one day i will be back.Thank you!

Great steak on a stone! Friendly service! — this review was 2 weeks ago and I gave it 5 stars.Went back last night and the food and service were as wonderful as the last time. However, the Saturday night “entertainer” was so loud it made it impossible to talk at our table and to ignore his sometimes crude and inappropriate songs. We asked if it could be turned down so we and the other families in the dining room could have an enjoyable evening, but we were told the singer wouldn’t. Apparently, there were type of shutters that could have closed the dining room off at least a bit, but they weren’t closed. Very disappointing.

Waitress was too accommodating Kept asking how everything was. Needs to relax a little

My family arrived here on a Sunday night, looking for an easy, family dinner. The 2 women who greeted us were pleasant enough. As we walked to our table, it was impossible to ignore the horrible smells. We sheepishly sat down and my wife said to me that we're not staying here and we promptly left. I can only hope this was a one time only occurrence as there seemed to be plenty of people who were unbothered by the stench.

Great food just don't be in a hurry due to it's very slow but nice staff worth going.

Great place for local cape codders. Live music was really good, everyone was super friendly. The chicken parmesan and the scallop scampi were delicious. The Tex-Mex isn't too bad but I would stay with the local dishes. (Said buy a Texan, so it's hard to impress me) However they have the best fajitas on Cape when I need a taste from home.

Halloween party tonight. Everyone was dressed in costume. Except me. I went as a normal person. Such a rarity in today's world.

So much fun on Saturday night with John Morgan. Great food too!

Clean place. Good food. They cook your food at your table on heated lava rocks. At night they have live music. It is loud, so if you don't like that stay away. We stayed and as the night went on the place got louder and louder. But the fun increased also. Everyone was singing along as most of us there knew the songs. We had a great time. Most of the people there were over 50. Bty the singer had an adult humor. So if that's not your taste stay away. The place was packed with great people and we had a blast

What a great Irish Pub I discovered in Jake Rooney's I go up to Cape Cod to fish for 5 days and this is a great place for lunch good food great drinks and you might talk to someone interesting

Good food and great service

Was down the cape visiting my parents and my father recommended stopping by Jake's. It looked like a little hole in the wall but was very nice and cozy inside. Good calamari and had some really great 'earth surf and turf'. IE great tender steak tips and very good stuffed shrimp. Will go back next time we're down there.

Awesome place for my dads retirement party!!!

Excellent food and service , great bands, always a fabulous evening.

Worse meal we had this weekend and most expensive. 4 adults and the best part of the meal was the rolls. Waitress however was fantastic. That's the reason I gave it a 2 star instead of a 1 star.

We ordered Cabernet beef. It was delicious and for desert we had New York cheesecake which was delicious as well. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly.

Fun little family place for dinner. The stone grilling is really cool.

The food was ok but nothing very outstanding.

The food was excellent. I recommend the stuffed mushroom appetizer. And for dinner I had the steak tips and shrimp which were perfectly done. On Sunday evening they have live entertainment. Gentleman named Gino was singing the hits of Frank Sinatra and doing a very good job.

We (my wife, 3 year old son and my parents) were looking for dinner Saturday night of the July 4th holiday week. First couple of places had 1.5 hours or longer waits. My parents had been here before and gave a call and they could seat us right away. My son and I shared the fajitas. We went with Chicken and Shrimp. Aside from the shrimp, it was good. And the shrimp tasted fine, but is was breaded which I wouldn't expect for a fajita. Service was good. Atmosphere wasn't anything special but was fine. Ultimately we would go back again. It was just what we needed this night.

Wonderful food and exceptional service

We enjoyed our meal so much our first night, we went back for a do-it-again the next night! Of particular note is their absolutely delicious French onion soup. I would say it's the best I have ever had. The service by Jackie was wonderfully friendly and happy. We so enjoyed her attitude and professionalism. We will definitely return!

When people consider the age-old question, "Where in heck do the locals eat?," the answer in Harwich is Jake Rooney's. Yet while they cherish their prized and handsome eatery featuring (King) Arthur's masterful soups ("chowdahs")and fresh entrees with al dente vegetables, they are decent and civil about sharing their oasis for ample comfort food and top-notch drinks. (Some folks also relish the live music, the KENO and the stellar service.) This spot may well be the Cheers of the mid-Cape!

Great place...cozy atmosphere, lovely server, and really delicious food! Hostess was a little...not helpful...but everything else was lively.

I had the best stuffed sole tonight. Had a great night.

My meal came with a butternut squash side and as I was eating it I realized I was chewing on a piece of a clear plastic bag. I showed this to the waitress and asked her to let the cook staff know. She said "I'm sorry about that" and took it away but did not offer any assurances of resolving the problem and offered no compensation of any sort - even my beer was fully charged.

From the outside it appears unassuming. On the inside, the staff is exceptional, attentive, and friendly! The food was excellent and the entertainment was talented. The place was very busy and a little cramped, but, due to the quality of service, you quickly forget!

The ONLY place I’ve found on cape cod that makes twice baked potatoes they’re so perfectly good!!! And the staff is great!! I love Rooney’s!!! Highly recommend Jake Rooney’s!!!
